Frequently Asked Questions

What is TariffPilot?

The tool is based on real artificial intelligence that efficiently and independently supports the previously predominantly human task of tariff classification. In other words, it simulates human intelligence by following the usual path to a tariff result - only much faster. TariffPilot works for you and strongly supports the daily tariff classification in your company. Our tool is a kind of technical lawyer that masters the tools of a classification expert and applies precisely the techniques that are required for a correct tariff classification.

How does TariffPilot work?

The complete EZT-Online is integrated into TariffPilot. EZT stands for Electronic Customs Tariff. This database is usually the first port of call when it comes to correctly determining the customs tariff number. The chapters, headings and subheadings of the electronic customs tariff are taken into account in the search. In addition, TariffPilot includes the notes and explanations as well as the binding tariff information (BTI). All this information produces a result that a real customs tariff professional would also deliver, but in a fraction of the time! TariffPilot is at least ten times faster than manual tariff classification."

What advantages does the tool offer?

Thanks to TariffPilot, you no longer have to carry out tedious daily research in EZT-Online. You can now focus on the more complex classification cases."

What else can the tool do in addition to the pricing result?

TariffPilot doesn't just list a tariff result; it can do much more! For each tariff classification result, the tool also provides a PilotMemo as a detailed explanation of how the tool arrived at the corresponding customs tariff number suggestion. On request, the tool can explain in detail how the AI arrived at the customs tariff suggestions, including a list of which other options were determined and excluded."

How can I use the tool?

In order to use TariffPilot, no detailed consultations are necessary in advance. The application is very simple: log in and get started. After entering the product description, our tool will present complete suggestions for your tariff enquiry within a few seconds. It doesn't matter whether it's a washing machine, a chemical kit, a technical part or an animal. For every customs tariff enquiry, you will receive a proposal including reasoning. The AI can generate impressive suggestions even in case of inadequate product descriptions."

Why should my company use TariffPilot?

Every company involved in the cross-border movement of goods comes into contact with the topic of tariff classification.
